Hearing Aid Repairs

Your hearing aids are an important investment in your life and for your health. Make sure to keep them in tip top shape by coming in for regular maintenance and repairs. Most hearing aids will last for several years. In order to make sure they are performing at their best, they may need occasional repairs. If you are having any issue with your hearing aids not working optimally, bring them in so that our hearing care professionals can evaluate them and make any necessary repairs.

Hearing Aid Troubleshooting Tips

In some cases, if your hearing aids aren’t functioning as expected they might just need some basic troubleshooting. Here are some things to check before scheduling an appointment for repairs.

  1. Is your hearing aid turned on? While this may seem like an obvious thing, oftentimes your hearing aid can accidentally get switched to the off position without you realizing it.
  2. Is the volume turned up? The same way your hearing aid could have been turned off, if also might have accidentally been dialed down on the volume.
  3. Are the batteries the problem? If you have rechargeable batteries, make sure the batteries are charged; if you have regular batteries, check to see if it is time for a replacement.
  4. Are the tubing and wires connected? Some models of hearing aids have tubing or wires that can come disconnected and cause them to not work. Reconnecting them is something you can usually easily do.
